Biography:
The band was formed somewhere in the end of 2001.It all started when Landslyde formally from Poetic Ammo decided to form a new rap rock outfit. So he went out looking for promising young talents. Through word of mouth, Landslyde heard about Amil a guitarist who could play wicked riffs and decided to drop him a line. Amil was all out to join this new rap rock outfit and decided to recruit his drummer Suresh (from his former band Hardcover).
Amil then introduced Landslyde to his guitar riffs and they instantly felt that the music with Amil's riffs and Slyde's freestyle flows sounded tight. So the hunt for the rest of the musicians went on. After visiting a battle of the bands held by a local college, Amil recruited their first bassist Jeremiah, a bartender who played the bass.
The band then knew that they were one person short. They needed a singer. It was then when Landslyde heard about a singer whom he invited for an audition. At the audition in a local jam studio, Amil and Suresh instantly recognized that person as Adam formally from Wisdom Of Sorrows. They used to perform in gigs together and used to be in the same primary school.
As soon as the band jammed, everyone just fitted in and DraGon ReD (Not Red Dragon) was formed. But Jeremiah was busy with his job and he was in the process of being transferred to Singapore and that's when Dragon Red decided to look for a new bassist.
Hanz (formally from Johns Mistress) showed his interest in joining the band after leaving Johns Mistress. After jamming, once again there was chemistry as the fusion of everyone's musical influences set the pace for our genre of music. Landslyde with his hip hop flow, Amil with his rock and metal riffs, Suresh with his traditional Indian beats, Adam with his hardcore cum melodic vocals and Hanz with his radio friendly bass lines. Thus the Dragon Red that you have all come to know was reborn.
After playing with the band for 7 months Suresh was replaced by Manshaan which made Dragon Red to keep flying higher than before. To him, its a very great challenge to be in this band as he has never played funky tunes and riffs before. Being a good musician, he blends the best of 2 worlds together somehow by mixing all his influences into one piece to create music.
Recently after performing his last show on the 8th of March 2003, Hanz parted ways with Dragon Red because he wanted to pursue his career in business. Even though Hanz was gone, Dragon Red's fire keeps burning with the introduction of Alda and his bass capabilities.
